- The name of Edward comes from Stephenie Meyer’s love for novels by Jane Austen or Charlotte Bronte in which the male character is called Edward.

- The name of Isabella it’s because Stephenie always wanted to name her daughter Isabella. Since she only has boys, this was her chance to use the name.

- Rosalie’s character was going to be called originally Carol.
- Jasper’s character was going to be called Ronald.

- Stephenie names some characters after people she knows in real life: Leah, Seth, Emily.

- The twon of Forks is real and Stephenie chose it because it’s the rainiest place in the United States.

- The title “Twilight” came up after thinking in “names with atmosphere” for the title. It stood out the most from a list of similar words.

- Stephenie originally considered calling the novel “Forks”.

- In some countries the title of the novel has changed dramatically. For instance, in Germany it’s “Til dawnr”, in Finland it’s called “Temptation”, in France it’s called “Fascination”.

- The first book was split in three in Japan. It’s called: “The boy I love is a vampire”, “Blood tastes like sadness” and “The family of vampires in the darkness”.

- In the course of six months the books was thought of, written and published.
